Valery Melnikov
Born in Nevinnomyssk, Valery Melnikov studied journalism in Stavropol, Russia. His photographic career began when he started to work for a North Caucasus newspaper. For ten years he was a staff photographer for Kommersant publishing house and since 2009 for international news agency Rossiya Segodnya.

He has dedicated himself to documenting the political and social life of societies in con- ict. Valery's professional biography includes coverage of Chechen war, con ict between Georgia and South Ossetia, Lebanese war in 2006, uprising of Mali Republic, Syrian civil war. In 2014, Valery began documenting war in Eastern Ukraine. is work continues in his current ongoing project about ordinary civil people who became the participants of the military confrontation against their will.

Valery currently lives in Moscow.
Andrew Lubimov
Russian photojournalist and documentary film director. His career began in 2009 in Sevastopol (Crimea), collaborating with several local newspapers and magazines, worked as a stringer with the Associated Press. Since 2013 he lives and works in Moscow. For eight years as a photojournalist, he covered the most important events in the country, including coups d'etat in Ukraine and the Crimea. Since 2013, also engaged in the installation of multimedia and documentary. His films are nominees, laureates and winners of various international competitions such as Lumix festival, POY, Freelense, TISFF and others.
